Organized for the first time in 2019, Security Operations Center Summit Budapest quickly gained popularity in the cybersecurity community for being an outstanding platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration. With more than 150 international participants joining the first event (even though it wasn’t even meant to be international), it instantly became one of the most important information security happenings in the region. It was only logical to scale it internationally for the second time, and although the pandemic forced the organizers to skip a year, SOC Summit ‘21 managed to leverage the rapid advance of digital channels and proved to be a huge success as a completely virtual event.

Defense Pro, the company who originally came up with the idea of the summit, managed the planning and implementation of the event the first two times themselves, but not without any help. They knew that they needed a partner with a trusted international background and vast industry experience to reach a wider audience. So, they recruited SOCWISE – a company with over 15 years of experience in managing detection and response, SIEM, and SOAR platforms, and over 40 SOC implementations under their belt – who did an exceptional job of scaling the event up to an international level. Now, after two widely successful events, SOCWISE steps up as main event organizer for the third summit to grow it to its full potential.

SOC Summit was designed with a clear purpose in mind: to gather experts, researchers, SecOps team members and managers, and solution providers from the IT and information security industry in a place where they can share and discuss best practices for defending their systems and assets against today’s cyber threats. Both the 2019 onsite and the 2021 virtual event featured users, professionals, and business stakeholders from end-user companies, as well as manufacturers and managed security service providers as speakers, and gave end-users the opportunity to share their experiences and debate at roundtables.

In 2022, SOCWISE keeps everything that made SOC Summit a success, and adds new dimensions that make it even more engaging. For the first time ever, an advisory board is formed where experienced professionals and SOC experts are invited to shape the event’s thematics. Although the list is still being finalized, the discussions will surely address permanent aspects of SOCs, such as the utilization of SOAR, AI, and XDR, the role of cloud, or fending off cyberattacks, as well as trending topics, such as the impact of Covid-19 on the industry or Secure Access Service Edge.

In addition, combining the best of both worlds, SOC Summit ‘22 will be a hybrid event taking place both physically and virtually at the same time. This will give people from all around the world a chance to participate either online or in person if they live near one of the two locations: Munich and Budapest (with the former providing the main stage for discussions, including sessions of special relevance to German companies). Naturally, the number of participants will be limited at both locations to keep everyone safe.

With so much uncertainty in the world, one thing’s for sure: SOC Summit ‘22 will set a new milestone in the event’s history. Building on the success of the first two occasions, SOCWISE spices up the proven recipe with exciting new flavors: an expert-filled advisory board and a hybrid, onsite/virtual setting. We’re sure you’ll want to come back for seconds. For more information on SOC Summit, visit https://www.socsummit.eu/. If you want to learn more about SOCWISE, go to https://socwise.eu/.
